When you see a (nice) chart like this, the first thing that should enter your mind is just how irrational it is to close schools, mask, quarantine, isolate, deprive healthy young kids, and why only exceptional safety data is needed to justify childhood covid vax.pic.twitter.com/crvo3Op3hO
PS: the y axis is log scale Make a linear version if you are unconvinced

What about morbidity?
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/jul/08/new-zealand-children-falling-ill-in-high-numbers-due-to-covid-immunity-debt … What about other conditions that harm kids more than c19?
Once you condition on BMI and underlying conditions, there would be little risk for those under 50, and this is the chart that intuitively many people feel but everyone needs to see.
I’d love to see it. What risk do our heathy, non-overweight kids have? I bet it’s near zero. And my wife and I, Health conscious, fit, and active in our 30s? Extremely low too. Unfortunately, the majority of Americans aren’t in that bucket.
huh? what the chart tells me is that vaccines reduce risk proportionally at any age. But this is risk of death, and has nothing to do with risk of spread by covid-infected people. Plus, risk is a ratio, and should not be on a linear scale.
‘I never want to leave the house if there is risk of getting a cold’
I'm no scientist, but I do see credentialed experts looking at the same data and drawing significantly different conclusions. My approach is to proceed cautiously because I see the disagreement, and I get suspicious of statements that imply consensus that doesn't seem to exist.
